Location:

Main Functions:

Provide direct services according to IFSP-identified child/family needs, conduct on-going assessments, attend IFSP reviews as scheduled. A behavioral specialist works with young children and families to implement behavioral programs to address social/interaction and coping skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct initial evaluations, assessments and attend IFSP’s with the appropriate flexibility needed to meet families’ schedules, in their natural environment, with respect for individual cultural differences.
• Knowledge of Behavior Modification principles and experience in ABA, specifically DTT, PRT, and Verbal Behavior are preferred.
• Work as a team member with families as active equal participants.
• Administer evaluation instruments using sound clinical opinion.
• Attendance at initial IFSP meetings, periodic 3 or 6 month IFSP reviews and Annual IFSP meetings.
• Have clear communication with families and with all other team members
• Submission of all paperwork in accordance with agency policies and procedures.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of all shared verbal and written information gathered according to agency policy.
• Demonstrate compliance with state-mandated training requirements.
• Attend agency's monthly staff meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned/required.
• Travel required.

Experience/Education/Credentials:

• Minimum prior clinical experience of one year working with children birth to five years old implementing behavioral intervention programs.
• Professional Liability Insurance required.
