• May 10, 2023: Sunny Days Co-Founder & Co-CEO, Joyce K. Salzberg, was honored by her alma mater, The College of Liberal Arts at Temple University, with its first honorary doctorate degree on Wednesday, May 10, 2023. Watch her inspiring speech here. • June   20, 2022: On Saturday, June 25th, Sunny Days and its International Clinical Training Team are proud to announce a virtual presentation focused on sensory processing in children. Special thanks to the management of Manual Astorga Ortiz, and the sponsorship of the Municipality of Isla de Maipo, Chile — and its Mayor, Mr. Juan Pablo Olave.
  
  This virtual presentation has been created to explain the relationship between what the student perceives through all the senses, how that information is processed at a cognitive level to produce response behavior, and more. It will last 90 minutes, and will be narrated in English with immediate translation into Spanish. All materials will be written in Spanish and time is included to answer questions from attendees.

• June 13, 2022: Sunny Days recently hosted a teacher training program in Chengdu, China—the first time a U.S.-based early intervention organization has offered a training program in China. The final curriculum was developed by Carola d’Emery, PT, PhD; Kathleen Flatley, MS, OTR; and Scott Rieger, NCC, MA, BCBA.

Ashley is a licensed Doctor of Physical Therapy serving the Early Intervention population for the last 5 years. Ashley is an asset to the New Jersey Early Intervention System and the families it serves.
  
• March   18, 2022:☀️️🏆 Congratulations to Beth Shapson, OTR/L. You are our Practitioner of the Month! Beth has been with Sunny Days since 2013 and is an OT in Burlington County. She has experience in sensory processing, autism, CP, and fine motor needs. Beth works with a large number of our families and is a true asset to our Early Intervention team.

  ️ Congratulations to Stacilynn Waldman. You are our Practitioner of the Month! Stacilynn came to Sunny Days in 2004 and has remained a vital member of our Early Intervention team, working as an independent consultant as a Child Development Specialist. She sees children and families in Mercer, Burlington and Middlesex counties. In her work with families, she’s creative, shows her strong compassion and interpersonal/problem solving skills.
  She brings a wealth of previous teaching experiences with older school-aged children throughout NJ to her work with our toddlers in Early Intervention.

  We’d like to take a special moment to acknowledge International Women's Day. As a business started by women, we hope to help inspire, and that our voice adds to the extended call to ALL women to use their greatest gifts and shine their brightest light to make a better world. Equality is for all.
• Feb 2021: In the upcoming March Issue of Women Leadership Magazine USA, the Women Business Collaborative will be saluting thirty of its members, and our Co-CEO and Co-Founder, Joyce Salzberg, will be one of those featured. • Congratulations to our Co-CEO and Co-Founder, Joyce Salzberg, who was just appointed Chair of New Jersey’s State Interagency Coordinating Council (SICC). Joyce is the longest-serving member of the SICC, and was originally appointed by the Governor of New Jersey. The SICC creates a forum for the entire early intervention community to share ideas and assist in improving the services offered to young children with disabilities. In Joyce’s 40 plus years of experience in the fields of healthcare and developmental disabilities, the SICC has played a crucial part in supporting the ongoing development of quality services for young children and families, and Joyce is excited to continue this legacy in her new role.

• Congratulations Bridget, Dianne and Susan! You have a wonderful reputation in Philadelphia as a strong early interventionists and each of you has been recognized by Sunny Days and IDS to help enact change. Bridget has been chosen to participate in Project ImPACT, a research grant funded by the Eagles Autism Challenge. This grant will study evidence-based practices to serve and support children diagnosed, or at high risk, of autism or ASD. Since the study was only taking on special instructors Dianne Lamastra, DPT, and Susan Poussart, CCC-SLP, have been chosen to participate in the state’s coaching grant. As leaders in Philadelphia early intervention they will mentor others to use coaching interactions during visits to help parents develop their abilities to interact and support their child’s development.

• Temple University Names the Joyce K. Salzberg Center for Professional Development

  Joyce K. Salzberg, CLA ’69, SSW ’79, an alumna with a long history of giving back to Temple University, is supporting a professional development center within the College of Liberal Arts (CLA) with a major naming gift.
  
  To honor Salzberg’s exceptional commitment to the college and its students, the center will be renamed the Joyce K. Salzberg Center for Professional Development. Currently located in Paley Hall, the center will move to a new space in Gladfelter Hall in fall 2020.
