SUNNY DAYS INTRODUCTION TO VIRTUAL SERVICE PROVISION IN EARLY INTERVENTION
Overview:
This introduction to virtual early intervention service provision provides EI personnel with an overview of this innovative service delivery methodology. It includes a brief history of telerehabilitation (also know as telepractice). Participants will learn how services can be delivered virtually, how this method of service delivery can be used for a variety of reasons or types of service and what the benefits to providing services virtually are. The position statements of ASHA, AOTA and APTA on telerehabilitation are reviewed. Information on how telerehabilitation has previously been used to deliver EI services in successful pilot programs will be introduced. Technology requirements are reviewed and considerations for privacy and security are addressed. Video demonstrations of simulated EI sessions and a resource list for further information complete this module.
